When buying a B&B became hassle free? With ASC!

Gary and Linda McNeal, motivated by seeing friends who had already opened a successful B&B had arrived at a time in life where they had decided for a change. Linda employed as a catering manager and Gary a landscape gardener felt that the time was perfect to move forward with a lifelong ambition, to run their own Bed and Breakfast and to be their own bosses.

Moving from Worcestershire to Sidmouth, no existing income streams could really be relied upon, however after a meeting with John Wood at their local ASC office, he felt that a strong application could be presented to the lenders, taking into account Gary’s transferable skill set and strong financial information for the business being purchased. Detailed representations were made to lenders and terms were offered, within a couple of months Gary and Linda were up and running making sure that the late summer/autumn bookings were maximised.

Asked to comment on the ASC process Linda reflected that neither she nor Gary had any idea just how often they had to rely upon their local ASC team throughout the process; coordinating, lenders, solicitors, surveyors and even buildings insurers. They were grateful that the ASC service is from day one right through to funds being drawn, which helped make the whole process hassle free.
