We were pleased to see the latest statistics which were released by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. They showed that last year, an additional 146,000 small businesses were started. This brings the total number of small businesses in the UK to a record 5.35million.
We don’t need to remind you about the importance of small businesses to the UK economy, we’re sure that by now you are already aware of their role in providing vital products and services, employment, and providing local services to local communities. But we are pleased to see their numbers thriving, which can only be a good thing for the country. With the recession still impacting many communities across the country, these statistics are another good sign that opportunities are there for small businesses, and we look forward to watching, and assisting them, in growing over the next few year.
