As Steve Jobs said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”
We have worked at the heart of the small business community for over 44 years (sorry about the plug), so we recognise the mind-set of a lot of small business owners and entrepreneurs.
A lot of entrepreneurs and SME owners ask us to arrange finance to help them start of grow their current business, which made me think: what do entrepreneurs and business people do when they don’t apply for finance?
Of course there are those that are privately funded and yes there are those that are funded by high street banks, (although that number is diminishing the more banks’ turn SMEs away). So I assume, that their ideas and projects fall flat before going to the prototype or business planning stages because they are worried about failure or growing debt.
There are traits that require a business to be successful and most are reflected in the personality of the person driving that business, but we also recognise that you can have the best idea, the best entrepreneurial traits required for success, but unless you get your idea off the ground and generate revenue you don’t have a business. Thomas Watson, Sr recognised that ‘to be successful, you have to have your heart in your business and business in your heart,’ and (adapted by ASC) ‘money in the bank.’
Speak to ASC if you require finance to start or grow a business. We cover all aspects of Commercial Finance and have a national structure to service you at a local level.
Instead of saying, “I had a great business idea” say “I have a great business”.
Don’t bank on it, bank on ASC
