A successful innovation
Earlier in the week we advised companies to speak to their customers and find out about their buying behaviour so that their products are driven by their consumers’ requirements. It seems Starbucks has done just that.
Starbucks looked at the customers buying behaviour and realised that ‘speed’ of purchase ranked highly on the customer experience list. Their customers wanted to be able to go in, pay and collect their coffee and get to work as quickly as possible.
Starbucks had to look at ways of making their service quicker. Debit card touch payments we’re already up and running but they also recognised the mobile trend and created a completely paperless transaction system allowing customers to ‘scan and go’ using their Android or iPhone app.
Their innovative mobile app allows them and their customers a more efficient process of delivering their products, improving the customer experience and increasing revenue. We enjoy seeing companies thinking innovatively and pushing the boundaries with innovation.
