Failing to Plan, is Planning to Fail

Published 16/09/2014 09:30:00

As any small business owner would tell you, the importance of having a robust business plan cannot be understated. As Abraham Lincoln once said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.

And, whilst we understand that it is near impossible to predict the future, and that even the most intricate and well-research plans will not be matched by reality, we know that for any successful business to grow, it is vital that they have a plan in place.

A good business plan can lay down the foundations for all aspects of the business, from marketing and sales activities, to raising business finance and even the hiring and retention of staff.

And whatever stage a business is at, from a brand new start-up, to a long established firm or a multi-national, it won’t be able to go too far without a plan in place.
