Deal or no Deal
It can be difficult for a small business to stand out from the crowd, even more so when you are an online store. Traditionally, you would simply display your products at their retail price, and try and promote them to customers and encourage them to make their purchase.
One store, however, decided to try something a little different. La Mac, an online seller of fashion jewellery and accessories, went outside the box, and tried a great promotional tactic this past weekend, “Deal or No Deal” (and no, they did not get Noel Edmonds to help them in person!).
La Mac placed 50 items on their online store, and encouraged customers to put in a bid for the items, and then decided if it was a Deal or No Deal. The initiative proved to be very successful, with over 100 more visitors to their facebook page and a significant increase in website sales over the weekend. Claire from La Mac said "The Deal or No Deal events are great fun and people enjoy something a little different when browsing and shopping. We like to do different events each month to keep our business page and website interesting including auction nights and Fiver Friday events. We always want to stay competitively priced and offer value for money to our customers and events like these are a great way of doing that. We hope everyone continues to enjoy them and our products as much as we do”.
